Students who failed to apply for university placement before the official deadline can still seek consideration after the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) outlined a late application process.

In a notice, KUCCPS said eligible students who missed the placement window should submit a formal request before the agency releases the final university placement results.

The move offers another opportunity for thousands of students who did not apply during the official application period.

Eligible students who missed the application deadline now have another opportunity to seek placement before KUCCPS releases final university admission results this month.

How to Request Late Consideration

KUCCPS directed affected students to send an email requesting consideration as late applicants.

Applicants must include their KCSE index number, KCSE examination year, full name, phone number, and email address to facilitate processing.

The agency, however, clarified that submitting a request does not guarantee placement, as every application will be considered individually.

Final Placement in July

The guidance comes as KUCCPS prepares to release the final placement results for candidates who sat the 2025 KCSE examinations.

The agency expects to announce the placement results during the first week of July 2026, allowing successful applicants to know their universities and courses before admissions begin in September.

Course Transfer Window to Follow

Students dissatisfied with their allocated course or institution will have an opportunity to apply for course or inter-institution transfers after the placement results are released.

A total of 268,714 candidates attained a C+ and above in the 2025 KCSE, making them eligible for university admission.

Earlier this year, KUCCPS revealed that more than 56,000 eligible candidates had not submitted placement applications, prompting the agency to open a second application window before announcing the latest late application guidance.
